As someone who dropped sonic quite a while ago but has been dipping my toes back in since Mania released last year I gotta say that I was pleasantly surprised by how well modern. Yet moderately irrelevant stuff like the Sonic The Fighters console re-release (which sadly did not get a PC release either) and the gajillionth Sonic CD port were ported to One almost instantly. If youre interested in replaying the day sections you can pick up Generations on steam and then mod in like 8 of the daytime levels (through the 'Unleashed Project').
